There’s a moment when you reach the top of the dunes at Fort Macon.
The walk there takes effort. Sand shifts under your feet, the path isn’t always clear, and the wind reminds you that you’re not in control. But then you reach the top and everything softens.
Dunes. Scrub brush. Ocean.
The sky stretches wider than you expect, impossibly blue, and suddenly the effort it took to get there melts away.
This is the place I come back to again and again.
Not just physically but creatively.
A Coastal Palette, Worn as Jewelry
The colors of this landscape have become the palette I reach for without thinking.
- Deep blues pulled from the horizon → lapis set in gold
- Soft greens woven through the dunes → emeralds and moss aquamarine
- Light catching on water → crystal quartz and mystic moonstone
- That hazy line where sky meets sea → chalcedony and pale aquamarine
These aren’t just stones to me. They’re memories I can hold onto.
When I sit down to create, I’m not choosing colors I’m recreating a feeling.
Jewelry Inspired by the North Carolina Coast
Living here means experiencing beauty that feels both constant and fleeting.
The sunsets shift into deep reds and glowing oranges, different every night but always familiar. The dunes change with the wind. The ocean never looks the same twice.
That sense of movement, of quiet change, is something I try to capture in every piece of handmade coastal jewelry I design.
Each necklace, each bracelet, each pair of earrings is a small translation of this place something you can carry with you, even when you’re far from the water.
Why Meaning Matters in Handmade Jewelry
I don’t create pieces just to match an outfit.
I create pieces that feel like something.
Something grounding. Something expansive. Something that reminds you of a place you love, or a version of yourself you want to return to.
That’s why I’m drawn to natural stones:
- Aquamarine for clarity and calm
- Moonstone for intuition and light
- Quartz for openness and energy
- Emerald for growth and connection
Each piece becomes personal depending on who wears it.
Bringing the Coast With You
Knowing this place exists just beyond the dunes, changes something.
It’s a reminder that beauty doesn’t need to be manufactured. It’s already here. You just have to make the effort to see it.
That’s the feeling I hope my jewelry carries.
Not just something beautiful but something that brings you back to yourself.

Each one is made by hand, inspired by the same landscape that keeps calling me back.
